Maidana softened Broner up and chased him down to 140 and Lucas would finish Broner off. Once Matthysse hurt Broner he would stay on him until he knocked Broner out. Lucas has a large variety of punches he throws in vicious combinations and he is too fast and too good for the overrated Broner. Broner would never fight Lucas just as he will never rematch Maidana. Maidana destroyed Broner's confidence so badly that fighting Khan's easy leftover is the hardest fight he will risk.

Broner has no size advantage over Matthysse. Matthysse is all bone and muscle at 140. He is as big as a 140 pounder can get. To my eyes Matthysse has faster hands than Broner and he snaps his punches while Broner tends to push and telegraph his punches. Broner does too much heavy weight lifting and it slows down his punches. Matthysse hits harder and faster than Broner.

Matthysse is small man, at least compared to his last two opponents. Broner didn't look out of place at 147 size-wise and looked a huge lightweight.

Other than Broner probably not getting KOed, I don' think his relative largeness at 140 will help him all that much. I don't think Broner has the output to (T)KO him, and while he is a good couterpuncher I don't think he really has enough Rigo in him to deter Matthysse. It seems like the type of fight where Broner would take a lot of increasingly lopsided punishment as the fight wore on. Broner's 1 L is a lot more like 2 - 4 Ls depending on who's doing the counting, and he really has no business in the ring with a top 5 guy at 140 until he shows his commitment to the sport and gets back on track (legitimately).
