.. They have to sell some more PPV units... and the weigh-in was too quiet...
... So, Floyd seemed he felt he has to push the sales a little...
    ... That's my assessment regarding the "gloves-gate"...

No he didn't. I saw the vid, they took the brand new pair out of the bag and Floyd tried them on and he shook his head, Floyd senior said "nah, man", and Ellerbe said "they're the same thing", referring to the blue gloves that they also had an issue with. Floyd proceeds to say "Put him in the same schit that I'm wearing".

it looks like a regular MX everlast to me. everlast has three pro gloves, last i checked. andre ward wears the pillows for his baby hands. lots of padding, hard, well formed leather.

there's a "hybrid glove," designed to protect, as well as give you some pop.

then there's a puncher's glove. that's the "MX" style from the everlast brand. it's horsehair and foam, IIRC and unless they have changed it around. the leather is soft, and the padding can shift around.

those look like regular everlast gloves. this looks like posture to me. they want an advantage, to make team chino sweat, and to possible get chino into some grant gloves.

the commission will settle this. there's a contract that says which gloves each fighter will use. it's one of the things that's regularly sorted out in a contract.

a little bit of showmanship to sell ppvs never hurt, and is nothing that mayweather is above.

there's no way in hell this fight doesn't go through ebcause of frigging boxing gloves. that would be a huge black eye on the sport.

I don't think threatening to cancel the fight is a way to "sell PPV's"

Floyd is 100% shook. Cotto fought in the same gloves and floyd didn't say **** because cotto was already shop worn and floyd still got his ass beat

HAha, Floyd Sr. saw the gloves and was like "them the same gloves that Cotto was wearing, no way in hell is that Madonna cat wearing em too."

There's no padding in either blue or red sets of gloves. It's clear as day

Yes, Everlast sells MX competition gloves with no padding inside -- or maybe Lucas removed the padding and replaced it with rocks.
