Pac hurts his opponents enough to make them alter their game plans. It can't be more obvious than in his last fight.

The only evidence people need as to why the fight didn't (and may never) happen:

Watch Floyd's interviews about it from 2007-2010. He loses his cool on numerous occasions and candidly admits that he "wants to be around for my children," and, "I have to think about my health."

On a phone call with Pacquiao, he actually asked Manny, "What happens if I lose? You have a career as a politician (after boxing); this is all I have."

Stephen A. Smith, a huge Floyd nob-slobber, admitted after meeting with both men that, while he felt Floyd would win a decision, Floyd definitely ducked Pacquiao.

50 Cent said Floyd ducked Pacquiao for business reasons. He said, "[Money] has to build himself up as a villain, and then take on a guy he looks good against for the audience to believe he's unbeatable." That wasn't possible against Pacquiao.

During Manny's prime, he would have messed Mayweather up. Maybe loses a close decision, but Mayweather's face would have been torn apart.

He agreed to every one of Floyd's demands, so Floyd stopped talking about it, and/or blamed it on Arum. Just one more hurdle until both men retire.

Floyd would get more respect from the boxing world by fighting Manny and losing to him than not fighting him at all. Otherwise, people will always remember him as the guy who ducked the only other great fighter of his era.

The WORST thing in all of this is the Floyd fans. Look, I have massive respect for the guy, and he's clearly the best defensive fighter of all-time. That said, his lame rants of "why should a guy who only got $6 million have a right to 40% of the take," and, "he's 2-2 in his last 4 fights, so how has he earned a right to fight Money?" are just that: lame.

If those excuses were legitimate, Floyd shouldn't have fought Guerrero, Cotto, Ortiz, Mosley, etc., when he did. All have losses, all don't generate huge revenue; the difference is, none of them were considered the pound-for-pound greatest in the game, or the other best of his generation. Pacquiao was/is both.

Had it happened 4-5 years ago, it would have been this generation's Frazier v. Ali, Leonard v. Hagler. Instead, it's going to be after the hype, after the prime(s), after the climax and end up another Tyson v. Holyfield (which should have happened in 1991), or not happen at all.
