It's a casino location so it's probably mostly comps.

I was at the Texas Station Casino in Vegas a couple of years back for a FNF card. It didn't appear any more packed than Hialeah Park...and I don't think we can argue that Vegas isn't a fight town.

We most definitely can. People only come for the big fights, and the bulk are definitely not Nevada natives. Otherwise, Vegas is a crap location for boxing.

When Matthysse headlined in Vegas for example, only 377 tickets were actually purchased and 810 were given away.

Slight similarity, perhaps a really out of shape one

Which fight was that? The big fights obviously bring in the big crowds, but that can be said about any place. One FNF that I attended doesn't necessarily prove anything, but it was definitely a good crowd for a relatively small event in a supposedly a "crap location."

It doesn't mean much if the attendance was mostly due to comps, which is common for FNF fights. And its especially common for Gary Shaw promoted fights like the one we just saw.
