JCC in LA discussing Golovkin fight with Arum

In what may be a final chance to make the summer’s best boxing match, former middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will meet with one of his promoters Thursday to discuss a proposed July 19 bout against middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin at the Forum in Inglewood.

Interesting, but what more do they really need to discuss either Arum is a) willing to pony up and make JCC Jr. happy with the extension b) Arum is willing to make the fight without the extension or c) Arum is not willing to do either which leaves us at the starting point

Article says Chavez Jr. is meeting with Top Rank Presdient Todd duBoef, not Arum although Arum is likely to be present.

It sounds like TR wants the fight as it'll generate new fans considering GGG has fought in many countries already and has pulled 1m ( i believe) viewers then add on to the opponent being JCC Jr.... big numbers, big bank, big punches.

Arum said he ''can see why'' Loeffler is getting antsy about the deal, but expressed hope Chavez will sign for the single fight, then be free to pursue other bouts against others in the 160- to 175-pound weight classes.
