This was one of the worst and most blatant ducks in recent history. Hopefully Duva will get them to pay up

Still not coming back to her, she might get some money as a settlement but it is not like Stevenson is going to comeback and fight for her again. If the fight is ordered I doubt she can win the bid against Haymon and Showtime anyway so it is a tough situation but it is part of business. Can't get upset with a fighter taking the best offer and most money.

I thought it was too at first but the fact they followed through with filing the lawsuit and the 40 page legal doc kinda gives off the vibe that theyre serious. And may have a legit case.

I think their case comes down to whether or not email agreements are legally binding. Past precedent has shown that they can be.

This is definitely good for boxing and the fans in general. People in the business giving shelters to ducks should learn their lessons. I don't care if Duva succeeds or not, but lawsuits will always inflict pain, waste of time and money on the receiving end of it.

I'm no lawyer, but no contract, no deal. I don't know if you can make an e-mail stick. I do hope that more boxers embrace free agency. Baseball does it, Basketball, Football, and the athletes are winning. I know owners don't like it, just like promoters don't like it, but if they weren't so disrespectful it wouldn't have to be this way. Just look at Sterling, "I give them houses, I give them cars, I give them clothes," I guess the athletes didn't earn a damn thing.

they could just be doing it to tie up stevenson in court even if they know they cant win the suit.

So... Main Events is suing Stevenson and Co, hoping that emails about a possible fight, that HBO was possibly going to put up $2.5 million, for both guys, after both guys had interim fights, will prove her case?

No signed contracts, no split of the purse, no confirmed TV fee from HBO, nothing? lol, whatever.

A 50/50 split of the TV fee gets both guys $1.25 million, plus whatever chunk from the gate; Stevenson is likely to make that much, easily, on the tune-up fight.
