I think he would have trouble pulling $1 million even if he had a couple more good wins against a quality opponent.

I would say Floyd gave him fair market value, not very generous but they are not a charity to pay Maidana more than his true worth.

Maidana has just became a Millionaire, and has got a fight he earned of his own merit in the ring, and people still complain. While 1.5 million may be Maidana's highest payday, I doubt they sign a fight for that low, isn't Haymon, Maidana's advisor too.

Choosing to resign as opposed to being a free agent is a bit different, I think it is better to explore your options.

Big names get advantages in boxing, that is just how the cookie crumbles I have never begrudged any big name that, I have never said anything like that even if I think that caused an issue on fight night I never had an issue with them trying to get an advantage.

If a guy signs to fight and they messed something up, that is that guys fault period now when it comes to giving credit that is a bit different, because that involves looking at the whys which include the advantages a star might get (that may or may not matter).
