Now that Canelo lost to Mayweather he doesn't care about it because even if he won it he would not be the real champ. Pretty simple. I don't get why some clowns are crying about a damn paper belt not being put on the line.
    This.

And the thing with Mosley I believe Floyd didnt want to pay fees but Mosley relinquished after the loss (from what I know)...

This is like Peterson walking around with belts after being KOd... Personally I'd be embarassed to call myself the champ in that situation.

@ Mosley relinquishing his belt to preserve the integrity of the sport. He was stripped of the title just a couple of weeks after he lost to Mayweather and the Ukrainian stiff, Senchenko, was updated from regular champion.

Alvarez quite clearly isn't comfortable making 154 at this point, and I wouldn't at all be surprised if the fight with Lara was changed to a catchweight at 156 or even 157 in the next month or so.

That maybe so, but I think any fighter with an ounce of pride would feel the same way about fighting someone for a belt which the other fighter didn't earn. And more importantly, a belt they just previously had but lost to another opponent. You have to admit it's kind of insulting.

somehow some way even though we all agree with the ridiculousness of belts people will find a way to bash him for saying this

Isn't this the same belt Trout had? It was good enough then no?
he didnt lose to mayweather when he fought trout thats the reason behind not fighting for it as mayweather is the champ though he might think it its not because the wba is any worse

ya i dont get it either you cant have it both ways. You cant say you want all bs belts out sport and still want belts for every single event. Hell they got the worlds participation belt now. But thats also why I dont take the 8 division champ or broner saying he wants 4 by certain age all that honestly means nothing these days as these fighters get a belt on the line no matter who they fight

Canelo will never be the best so what's the point even watching him and paying for tickets ... He looked his worse when he fought like a chicken against Floyd ...

who are you to define what canelo can or can't be? The truth is no one really knows how good he will be yet the guy is still young as hell and not to his peak and already his talent is obvious. Lara will be a huge test but even if he losses i dont think that defines whether hell be great or not I think people put to much stock on single fights

2 me, Alvarez is an after thought...FM made sense w/his thoughts, mainly the interim titles, which wbc really pushes, ie: Rubio the interim but Martinez defends vs Cotto Jun 7....where's the logic???More sanctioning fee $$$ 4 Sulaiman...
