I think he could carry his power at that weight and increase his punch volume. Who knows if Matthysse took something from him and damaged him, but he took those punches well for 8 rounds. He started losing Matthysse's respect when he decreased his punch volume. Molina looked like a huge junior welterweight and he gassed out pretty easy. It's crazy to think he used to make 135. I think at 147 he will increase his punch volume and he can carry his power at that weight.
John Molina would do better at 147

That's what I'm saying. He's a flat footed fighter anyway so might as well put more weight on his legs and retain more water weight to help him with punch resistance and stamina. He moved up in weight and took on the hardest punched in the division and dropped him.Comment

You may be right about that. I would worry about his effectiveness once he loses his size advantage though. At 5'11 he would still be one of the tallest WWs but his punches may have less effect and I don't find him very skilled. He's just tough as nails and has a never say die attitude which is commendable.
As far as the fight last Saturday, I attributed some of his loss of activity and aggressiveness to the amount of blood he lost from the cuts on his head. Matthysse's punches had a lot to do with it as well but the blood loss played a key factor imo.Comment

Matthysse has been in there with some pretty hard hitters at jww and said Molina hit the hardest. I think his pop will be effective at welterweight. If I were his team I would try to get a rematch with Demarco at 147 or match him up with Soto Karass, Berto, and maybe even Josesito Lopez before trying to get a risky fight at 147.You may be right about that. I think he should stay at 140 man. He is tall but he doesn't have a big frame and he isn't particular muscular even at 140. He'd get eaten up in the higher weight division.
At 140 he possesses real power and a good height, I'd like to see him fight Rios or ruslan but that's not happening, so how about Peterson?Comment

That's like saying nonito donaire would be better at 126. Look how that's turning out. And donaire is 10x the fighter Molina is.Last edited by Kagami Taiga; 04-29-2014, 04:22 PM.Comment

No point, hes not that good. WW is way too good for him, he needs to stay at 140, where all the best fighters are moving up and possibly win a belt thereComment
