If Wlad can control his stamina issues and not panic when hurt he'll be alright.

Well he's proven that he can control his stamina issue in the Peter fight, being chased around for most of the fight I think he did a fairly good job. He was tired at the end that was for sure, we saw that in the knock down when he was moving back, he looked exhausted at that point and I truly thought it was over if Peter could have capitalized. He is a big guy so you can't really torment him on the staminia issue, most big guys have a tough time fighting 12 rounsd, especially at his rate. Yeah he definetly lost some feel for the ring and panicks much more often after his humiliating loss to Sanders, however he didn't panick in the Peter fight when he was knocked down twice by an illegal shot and one more time later in the fight, so overall I think the Peter fight showed us that Wlad is back. However, he is less reluctant to use his power now, so that sucks. He obviously had Peter badly hurt at one point in round 12, but decided not to push it.

Wlad aint that exciting. Did you see his last fight? All he did was hold. Yeah he was knocked down 3 times but anytime Peter came close, Wlad held on. He just methodically breaks down his opponents, nothing dramatic.

He sure fought a smart fight though, even without planting his feet and delivering his best shots, he kept Peter at bay for the most part. I think he realized that Peter's chin had a cast iron and it was pointless to keep himself grounded for any longer than neccesary. He learned from the Brewster fight not to shoot his load too early against an opponent who can take it.

If he thought he could seriously hurt the slow moving Peter he would have taken him out earlier IMO. I don't think he will be so reluctant to sit into his shots against other opponents who aren't made out of granite like SP is.

Wladimir Klitschko is a wiser better schooled boxer than he was years ago and he will beat Byrd easily in his next fight. I think he will fight Brewster like he did Sam and win on points.

I agree enadeus. If he can stay the course he's going now he'll be fine. He was used to KO's people left and light then when people survived his attack he would be gassed out and left for dead. I'm hoping he can pull through and become a legitimate champ.

It won't be as exciting as he once but a disciplined Wlad could definitely make alot of noise today.

I'm not saying what he does is not smart, I believe he is one of the most if not the most cerebral HWs today. But his weak chin and questionable stamina put him, like Asian Sensation said, in a posistion to suffer another embarrasing loss to other lesser fighters. A HW cannot be great without a chin.

Lennox Lewis was great. His chin was highly suspect to say the least.

I thought the Sam Peter-Wladimir fight was the best heavyweight fight in years. There were many dramatic moments and you never knew if Peter would equalize the fight with one punch. Girls who were watching it with me were getting very into it, and they don't even like boxing.

Lewis's chin was granite compared to Wlad. Lewis took big shots from Holyfield and a couple of big shots from Tyson, and he didn't go down. The only time Lewis went down was with punches he wasn't expecting against 2 big hitters. The McCall shot he didn't see coming, and the Rahman shot he wasn't prepared either.

I made like $500 in that fight, you should have seen me when I was watching it. The next day everyone at my weight training gym was talking to me like I won the fight because of the sum I had wagered. I haven't had this much anxiety watching a heavyweight fight in a long time. However, I did expect the fight to end in a knockout.
