  • He will NEVER LEAVE and I am sure Arum being the SNAKE that he is, probably BLACK MAILING him into stay his entire career with Top Rank

Cotto was able to get away from Pacquiao to go fight Mayweather and make the biggest PayDay of his career...Why Can't Pacquiao?

That being said, remember Pacquiao is not a business man and clearly has no desire of doing that so I think he just feels comfortable working for Arum instead of having to find new people he can trust to help him do everything by himself. So maybe he just have that COMFORT with Arum

GBP seems to be a mess right now, wouldn't be a good idea to make that jump when Schaefer and Oscar are probably not on the same page at the moment

Why would you want that. It wouldn't be a fair victory for Pacquiao.

So you'd rather him fight a bloated 130-135 fighter instead of a legit 140-147 Garcia or Thurman.

Wow no wonder Arum fells like he can pull the wove over people's eyes.

Right so basically Pacquiao should resign a new contract with a guy that gets him into federal tax trouble.

        Sounds like a good plan.

They didn't stop recycling Mosley until he's completely shot...
The GBP situation at and around the welterweight division is a lil different because everyone is angling for have a Floyd fight. Some are trying to talk themselves into it like Guerre did and Khan is trying to do now. And then you have the guys like Porter and Thurman who GBP are gonna be selective with because they're potential 2015 Floyd opponents. Outside of Trout, Canelo basically fought no one while GBP was building him into a Floyd opponent. But now that that's outta the way, they have no quarls with putting him in with the so-called boogeyman of the division.

Not over GBP matchups, but i'd rather have something new than more Marquez or Bradley fights.

Where do the contradictions end with you cats?
Floyd signed a lucrative fight contract that was paid upfront by the way to fight on a network, he did not sign a promoter contract. So comparing the two does not make sense. They are not the same.

I understand that, anything would be better than Marquez and Bradley again.

I can't be sure and you can't be sure.

The only way to know is to give other promoters and networks a chance to pitch their offers. But Manny never lets it get to that point... he just extends his contract like a dummy without hearing them out and comparing his options.

Not saying that at all...HE SHOULD LEAVE! But leaving Arum would not be easy ESPECIALLY for Pacquiao who is his biggest Money Maker.

Arum losing Pacquiao right now would be DEVASTATING for Arum, Top Rank and HBO right now. It would be a DEATH BLOW!

                    • I think Pac is looking at long term for the 5 fight deal.

There's gotta be a signing bonus and then some sort of guarantee for the 5 fights while the Mayweather fight isn't certain and even if he does procure the fight if he loses badly his stock would definitely take a hit after that (if he tried to negotiate a multi fight deal after losing).

I don't know if it was the right choice however given the purses Pac has earned over his career compared to the purses he could have been getting had he been a free agent earlier.

Pac probably should realistically try for the Mayweather fight and if unable to make it not only could he make Floyd eat his words but he could go back to Arum for the 5 fight deal.
