Comments Thread For: Mayweather: We'll Take Our Time, Pick Maidana Apart

LONDON - Pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather is refusing to underestimate renowned knockout artist Marcos Maidana ahead of their megafight this weekend.

The pair clash at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday night, live and exclusive on BoxNation, with boxing’s number one superstar adamant that he will need to be at his very best to overcome the formidable Argentine.

Despite some calling into question Maidana’s chances, the WBC welterweight world champion believes the Santa Fe native’s victory over Adrien Broner to claim the WBA crown last December shows he’s not one to be overlooked.

Mayweather getting more technical here, not being his repetitive usual self which is good. He's right about fighters body language exposing when they're gonna attack, as well as fighters telegraphing. This is why Augustus and Castillo had success, Mayweather opponents review the tape but it's like they never catch that aspect of why Castillo was successful. Maidana doesn't bring any of that though, Mayweather is gonna read him easily.

Instead of the "The Moment" the PPV should have been called "Target Practice".

I agree and who wouldn't really. He is of course slowing down with age, but due to his wealth of experience is being more efficient and precise.

When a real challenge emerges I can feel it, and when I feel it ,I do what I've been trained to do.I duck it and if it's still their I make accusations and I duck it some more.

So who believes British superstar Amir Khan beat Maidana. Did you forget the superstar had the super ref on his side? So now Chino has to do pushups? Like some were ruling Chino out because of Adrianas body. FYI Chavez wasn't cut but has more fights with 0 loss you'll ever dream of.

And the opposite is also why he is so effective. He doesn't give away when he is going to attack...he uses subtle side to side head movement and pauses to potshot a quick jab, hook, ect. that the opponent can't react to fast enough.

Mayweather uses the same gameplan when navigating his career.
