    Ok Castillo is a bum.

Let's have this conversation in two years' time when the bum has beaten the **** out of everyone from 135-147.

Corrales went into the ring heavier than Castillo in the second fight.

Who is anyone to say that Castillo did not do all he could to make the weight?

Corrales could make the weight, Castillo couldn't.

When it's impossible to make the weight, what are you going to do?

Castillo told me himself before the Julio Diaz fight that he couldn't make the weight and expected to be fighting as a light welterweight by September of 2005.

Erik Morales did not make weigh to fight Zahir Raheem but nobody said **** about that.

If Corrales had beaten Castillo again in the rematch, we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

Everybody loves Corrales and he can make money fighting anyone which he should because Castillo ruined him in that first fight and if a third fight comes off, the guy might end up in a wheelchair.

Corrales would get hurt fighting a prepared Hatton. Because he's susceptible to a lead left hook,

which is hatton's best tool. Hatton would do his little sidestep and be all over Corrales leading with a left hook downstairs, Chico would drop his hands, then Ricky would finish up top, touching up Diego very well.

I think Hatton should stay away from Castillo. I'd duck Castillo. If he loses to Castillo, his credability takes a dive. If he wins, it's a good credability boost but I don't think it's worth how bad it would suffer if he lost the fight. It's one of those fights that has the potential to take a good bit of Hatton's prime away from him, since he's a pressure fighter. There's no way Hatton can stay on the inside and avoid the wheel of uppercuts and hooks Castillo likes to throw. Hatton would end up coming in with his own big shot and taking one of Castillo's big punches. Hatton's style plays right into Castillo's hand.

Hatton has already said that he won't stand toe-to-toe with Castillo. He'll try to use his boxing instead (using 'in and out' tactics, showing finesse).

Both would be terrific match ups but I wonder why Hatton is looking at smaller guys coming up from lightweight rather than the guys already at 140 like Cotto.

hatton's a natural pressure fighter though, and that will go against him if he tries to box castillo, who's based his entire career off of making people fight his fight. the best chance against castillo is a natural, tall, rangy pure boxer, preferably southpaw, with a decent chin in case he gets tapped escaping a corner.
