If HBO does have Rios fight than Canelo won't sell more than 150k PPV's
You must work for top rank

It's very rare for the under card to do better than the main event.

It's not going to be a big deal.

If it was GGG or Chavez jr that would be something, or even if Rios was fighting another exciting fighter like Ruslan.

Like I said I don't think SHO has anything to worry about.
OK, I stand corrected. I knew it was around a million or so

Lets wait until they announce who hes fighting. There probably gonna match him up with someone he'll look good against which would be someone who wants to brawl.

Either way I don't see how this CAN'T affect Canelos numbers.

Rios/Abregu has been kicked around. Not a lot of viable options left and Abregu did say he would try to be back on HBO in the summer

If that's the best possible option SHO has nothing to worry about.

Well, who ever not buying the Canelo vs Lara ppv can just watch the HBO fight for free. I'll be buying the Canelo vs Lara card and will watch the HBO card later that night.

I do agree it's never good for the promoter who's having a PPV event.

If the other network is having a card for free. It can hurt the Canelo ppv buys or not who knows but it doesn't help.

It'll take some buys away, but I sure as hell am not missing Canelo vs Lara, IDGAF if Rios is fighting Jesus Christ, some shyt I just can't miss.

Maybe this will force GBP to stack the card, might help the people buying this fight.

Why though? What's the point? Everyone is going to watch Canelo-Lara whetehr PPV or not. Arum is just getting desperate at this point.

Why not put the free fight on a week before or after? This is only hurting Brandon Rios.

If it's Rios vs Ruslan I'll have no problems waiting a week to watch Canelo fight Lara. It'll be slightly more entertaining than Mayweather vs Canelo, simply because Canelo might actually win 3 or 4 rounds this time but he'll still lose.
