Floyd Mayweather - the only boxer whose Name supersedes a "World title?"

Is mayweather the only boxer of our time whose name is of greater value than a title? for example if mayweather fought all the rest of his fights without any world title on the line, would it really matter that no title's involved?

maybe the "p4p #1" consensus ranking is superior to any single world title? perhaps if you're talking about a fight that would unify 3 or 4 titles, then it would be a different story, but any single title surely isn't of equivalent value to the mayweather name with the p4p #1 ranking?

if he got defeated obviously that would change things instantly, but i'm talking about current day.

The guy is without a doubt EXTRAORDINARY. He can fight anyone and it will be and event rather than a boxing match. Ive watched him grow and it definetkly seems that anyone would take a fight with Floyd with no belt involved.

Any top tier fighter can transcend world titles. There's just very few of them today. Obviously Pacquiao and Mayweather are the obvious ones, the rest are pretty debatable.

Mayweather, Pacquiao, BHop, Wlad, Rigondeaux, Ward et al. I'm pretty sure that if someone collected a victory, over most established fighters, it would mean more than the belt.

In this era, the value of the belts have diminished greatly.

Just about any top fighter in a division is worth more than a belt. You can have 3 WBA champs, 1 WBO, 1 IBF, and 1 WBC champ in a division at 1 time, thats 6 without even counting interim titles. They are for the most part worthless
