I was just looking this up.
I had just read that the fight is 99% set to go.
There were 2 things that needed to be wrinkled out.
One is , if I understood it right, that JCCjr will get more per fight with his contract extension.
    The 2nd thing wasn't stated.

LOL... I can't imagine what type of fine print is put into that extension. I'm sure TR knows full well that this is potentially Chavez's swan song if they put him in there with someone like GGG.

If I remember correctly, Arum's normal BS is complicating matters -- Chavez gets the fight only if he signs an extension contract.

I believe that practice should be regulated .... No Promoter should be allowed to hold a Boxer's career progress hostage, by forcing them to sign extensions in exchange for promoting their next fight.

If I'm mistaken ... I look forward to an update on this situation as well.

TR doesnt promote Golovkin. It's impossible for TR to stop this fight.

I can't stand that top rank only offers its fighters the big fights with contract extensions attached. That's why I will always hate Arum.

TR is only a co promoter and JCC jr has one fight left anyways. Why is an extension holding up this fight? There is no legal way that a extension needs to be signed for this fight to happen. It simply is not possible. If Jcc Jr wanted to leave TR he could sign for this fight, not sign the extension and move on.

I thought the hold up is that Chavez Jr wants Al Haymon to be his Advisor/Manager.

How can't tr stop the fight? So jcc can just fight anyone without arums consent?

the fact is, TR is offering a nice bonus on this extension and JCC Jr wants more money and using this fight to negotiate it. The extension has nothing to do with this fight. It's all about money.
