I always used the Toney comparison too, makes way more sense than comparing him to Floyd. But after the Maidana fight I don't think that's credible anymore either.

Toney could be hit but he had amazing counterpunching instincts in the pocket. Broner doesn't have anything approaching that sort of ability to seamlessly build on your opponents offence and turn defence into attack in a fluid fashion. He's more like Amir Khan, waiting in his shell for his opponent to stop throwing and then throwing himself.
