Maybe so, but he's still been able to rock these guys, regardless of what people think of his resume so far. Right now, he should just focus on that defense of his and his technique. That chin looked average against Soto Karass and Chaves and he got hit with a love tap.Comment

Thurmann does have Grove/ Haye qualities about him, he picks his punches, while yes he is a problem at 147, is he the biggest problem? i'm still not sold though, its a shame we didnt get to see the outcome of this Diaz fight, it ended on a bummer.I don't know how you can back Haye and criticise Thurman. KT was basically a smaller version in there tonight and I'm not just talking how they look, his style is very similar too, even has the slightly lax defense. It's uncanny.
No fighter is perfect man, but Thurman is a problem at 147.
I think he needs to chill out on the showboating, dropping his hands, and also the wild swings, when he boxes and picks his punches and keeps moving in and out, he is a serious problem, like Diaz said after round one "he is awkward", which to me meant, he's hard to catch.
However Diaz eventually did catch him when Keith started showboating and swinging
Porter could pose some problems for Thurmann, will be a very interesting fight, as long as he beats Brook. I dont think Brook wants to fight Thurmann though.
Thurmann vs Porter will tell us which one of them is the real deal and probably set up a match for FloydComment

if he lands a proper right hand(no back of the head, skimming, while moving back etc) he could easily hatton/pacquiao/dallas a solid chinned opponent
if he was fighting fat bums like wilder also think he'd ***'em all up brutally
if he's rocking guys with that wide ass left uppercut, the man has real power, and has diaz ever been down in his career?
very good performance by one time, he needs to learn set up his right hand though, he only seems to land them when people have their heads down and chins tucked, you can't put good enough power like that, the angle is bad, needs to learn how to set up shots on guys with their heads up, that's where the ko's come from
but agian great performance, tremendous speed and power displayed aswell as footwork and boxing iq, guy is full of potentiolLast edited by SplitSecond; 04-26-2014, 11:53 PM.Comment

Thurman is a very gifted athletically and has developed solid boxing skills but still a bit wild and reckless. I wish the fight could have gone a couple more rounds, he could use the experience. I think he still needs one more fight before challenging for a belt.Comment

Thurman has enough quirky/wildness to make him difficult to deal with , it can get him in trouble so he needs to learn how to mix being more technical with his athleticism it'll likely never mesh perfectly but will provide for some exciting boxing type brawls in his future.Comment

The outcome was Thurman broke Diaz's rib and he was struggling to breathe.
He didn't act like that v Chaves, a serious puncher. He knew he was a level or two above Diaz.I think he needs to chill out on the showboating, dropping his hands, and also the wild swings, when he boxes and picks his punches and keeps moving in and out, he is a serious problem, like Diaz said after round one "he is awkward", which to me meant, he's hard to catch.
