    would he be remembered as the greatest of all time?

    There would be a lot of claims he was, no doubt. Because if you think about ***55356;it, he would have essentially retired 49-0 (only loss being the DQ loss).

        As a Roy Jones Jr fan I wish he would have retired after the Ruiz fight. He would be up there on that list no doubt.

          On skill and ability yes. His resume is lacking too much to be tho.

          But he's no doubt an ATG just not the greatest of all time I rank him in my top 10

              Going back down and beating Tarver should be considered just as important to his legacy as beating Ruiz. If he had retired after that, you'd probably have a lot of people saying he's the best ever. Not that he would be, but many would say so.

              That being said, those people who think his losses since somehow diminish what he did before are just as ridiculous as the people who might have said he's the GOAT.

                  going back down and beating tarver was one of his top 3 wins of his career. tarver was the clear #1 guy. it's similar to floyd and margarito but instead of going into retirement and never fighting him roy fought tarver 3 times.
