On a more serious note, this is a good match up. If Charr beats Povetkin he deserves a title shot. Heck, he should be ahead of Wilder in the WBC pecking order, anyway.
There appears to be a clamour between the top WBC boys competing for the soon to be vacant Silver title,as we know from the rankings the top five guys currently have orders over them, everyone from Thompson ranked sixth down will be hoping to compete the coveted WBC silver title, one mandatory defence and an optional and they'll be the mandatory to the full title in say 12-18 months ? Along with a mandatory split !

It seems like Povetkin is pursuing the lofty WBC position currently held by Manuel.I do not understand the logic behind this though,he could have participated in the ordered WBA fight against Ortiz and again been mandatory in 18 months time, maybe it is he or his team don't have belief they would manage to beat Ortiz.

Povetkin is fearless IMO,I don't think he has a great deal to fear from Ortiz,he's competed against the divisions best over the course of the past 4 years, claiming some admirable wins on route to his Klitschko fight.it makes me think he wasnt in good condition when the WBA ordered the Ortiz fight,we've seen his conditioning dip shockingly before, during and after high profile fights.or maybe his current desire is somewhat lacking,a tune up or two would not have gone a miss before taking on formidable opposition in Ortiz and Charr.

Jokes aside,Charr has already gone on record stating why he is pursuing all these minor WBC titles.as far as I am aware he fights exclusively within the WBC rankings, ignoring all the other bodies,to my knowledge he isn't ranked in the top 15 of any other governing body.if anybody deserves to be involved in the post WBC title box offs after the current orders have been fulfilled, then surely it has to be a guy who has been paying his WBC sanctioning fees in every fight he has participated in the last 4 years.
