The reason Floyd Mayweather's is able to take home $80 million from a single night's work is because he owns every single aspect of his own events.
Whenever Mayweather fights someone, he puts up all the money for the entire show, himself .He pays for the venue, the insurance, the vendors and even his opponent's purse, out of his own pocket.
On the other hand, when the Alvarez fight did go through as planned, more than 2.2 million households ordered it on pay per View for $65 which generated $150 million worth of revenue. Even after a large percentage was taken out for the distributors and costs, Floyd was still left with a $45 million bonus. And 100% of that money went directly into his bank account (after taxes). When you add Mayweather's $40 million appearance fee and his $45 million PPV bonus , you can start to understand why he makes $85 million for a single fight.
Canelo got paid 12 million and you know Showtime got paid as well Plus Cable or satellite got a very big cut too.
Just pay yourself some money and get rich.

That's actually NOT a fact. Check your history, and begin here:
"Golden Boy and Top Rank have been at odds for years over Pacquiao, who once signed with both companies virtually simultaneously in late 2006. Pacquiao eventually pledged his loyalty to Top Rank, but the damage was done.
Golden Boy sued Top Rank, with which it was already embroiled in various lawsuits. The bad blood between Arum and Golden Boy's Richard Schaefer and De La Hoya, Arum's former fighter, led to a cold war between the companies. They refused to do business with each other, denying fight fans a number of marquee matches between their fighters."

Also, while you're doing your history homework, go here:
It was just this week that Arum said he would go to the Philippines to meet with Pacquiao and present him with the names of four possible opponents for May or June: Miguel Cotto, Marquez, Lamont Peterson and Timothy Bradley Jr.
Arum figured Mayweather would be in jail and off the table. Now that Mayweather is available and seemingly would like to make the match, Arum suddenly isn't interested.
He used the lame excuse of the cut Pacquiao suffered against Marquez, saying he might not be ready for May. (I've never heard of a cut taking more than six months to heal.) However, earlier this week, when Arum thought Mayweather would be on ice behind bars, he said there was a good possibility Pacquiao would fight in May.
Moments after Mayweather was granted the continuance, Arum changed his tune.
http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/7433886/blame-bob-arum-no-manny-pacquiao-floyd-mayweather-fightNow that Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been granted a delayed jail term, Manny Pacquiao's team is shying away from a May bout. Who shoulders the blame for the failure of matching boxing's biggest attractions? Top Rank's Bob Arum.Comment

Timothy Bradley was only rated NO.3 P4P because of that horrible decision win over Manny in fight # 1. His barely beat Provodnikov, and that was Provodnikov's 1st fight at welterweight. Prior to Manny, Bradley's only fight at WW was against a fat Joel Casamayor. After Provodnikov, Bradley got a close win over Marquez, who himself is no legend at WW. Maidana has done more at WW than Bradley. A Khan win over Collazo will put him right where Bradley is now. Bradley has never come close to Guerrero at WW, or Canelo at JMW.Comment

Whenever Mayweather fights someone, he puts up all the money for the entire show, himself .He pays for the venue, the insurance, the vendors and even his opponent's purse, out of his own pocket.
When Mayweather fought Saul Alvarez, he spent $15-20 million of his own money before a single punch was even thrown. He put also put aside $40 million for himself as an appearance fee. The major risk Floyd is taking is that all these expenses occur before the fight happens. If there was a natural disaster like a hurricane, the fight would be canceled and Floyd would be out of luck.
On the other hand, when the Alvarez fight did go through as planned, more than 2.2 million households ordered it on pay per View for $65 which generated $150 million worth of revenue.
