Comments Thread For: Matthyssse Hopes Maidana Can Land Big on Mayweather

LOS ANGELES --- Lucas Matthysse looked like a Swami when he picked Marcos Maidana to knock off previously-unbeaten Adrien Broner in December.

The victory landed Maidana a mega-fight against Floyd Mayweather on May 3 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Showtime PPV.

So who is Matthysse, who faces John Molina on Saturday at StubHub Center in Carson on Showtime, picking to win Mayweather vs. Maidana?

He has to appear like he's supporting his country man. It's like when British fighters pick Amir Khan to beat Mayweather do you really think they believe he has a chance?
It's like when those celebrities divorce and they say ' he I still love him very much and we are still very good friends' do they mean it? It's PR you have to say things certain people want to hear.

Standing behind your countrymen is as honorable as a man can be. American boxing (Or so called) fans could take a lesson from these guys. It was a event in itself to see Hatton's followers support their guy when he fought Floyd. But these traders in this country can't stand any black athlete in any sport that dominates especially a one ok one sport like boxing. Over 80% Americans hate Floyd as well as the Williams sisters, Tiger Woods and any political powerhouse that can make a change to a law they don't agree with. It's never seems to amaze me how Americans can back any winner so long as that winner isn't black. .......

He's right in a sense. You see the fab five documentary. These guys were getting so much racial hate, just because they were black. Do you think they wouldve gotten the hate if they were white?

people hated on lebron because of the way he left. you dont hold a friggin 1 hour tv special to tell cleveland you're screwing them over. if you want to leave then leave dont be a diva about it. it's professional sports, fans generally understand why players leave. you dont see yankees fans hating on cano on the same level that people hate on lebron.

kobe didnt get accused, he was proven to have been with that woman.
