    Check out "The Guv'nor."

Lenny was known as the hardest man Britain ever knew. Even if that doesn't mean **** to you, his story is one that is well worth checking out and this is a good place to start.

I'm still not sure who was tougher between him and Roy Shaw, i think theres a lot of lies and ''half truths'' by someone, but i don't think theres any doubt that they were both hard bas****s.

Nice to see that Lenny is a known man to some degree on this board. He was indeed a hard bastard. He knocked out the Mafia's champion in two minutes and was brought in as security against the IRA and made them back off after he grabbed one of their guys and put his thumb through the guy's cheek. What I like about Lenny is the values he lived by: If you were polite, you were alright, but if you were disrespectful, you got a good hiding. He never made excuses for the criminal things he did, but he lived by a code that belonged in the old world of underground gangsters in London. Those guys would never go after a "straight" person, they always took care of business within the underworld, not like now, with these crazy, drug addled psychopaths that will do anything to anyone.

Lenny admits that he let himself down and allowe dhimself to be outboxed in the second Shaw fight, but Shaw did not take him down. I truly believe tat though he may have had trouble with boxers early in his fighting life, when it came to it, Leny was never beaten in a real fight.

''Roy Shaw is the ultimate hardman. He has cult status and commands a respect that few, even in the violent world he moves in, can equal. To him, violence is simply an accepted part of his profession. He doesn't exaggerate it, he can't excuse it and he refuses to apologize for it. His name may mean nothing to you - he's no actor, no showman, no wannabe celebrity. He does, however, live by a merciless code, and though he may not have cloven hooves and a tail, if he goes after someone, all hell comes with him.''
