This guy is 6 foot 8 , 250lbs ripped to shreds, has 1 punch KO power in both hands and fights like a fairy. A few more years and these Klitschkos will be gone from the sport. Thank heavens.

When I read posts like the above, I'm thinking that what they're really saying is that they want to see him lose. If it's not broken, don't fix it. If Wlad has an Amir Khan chin problem, then it hasn't really been a problem precisely of the way he fights. If only Amir Khan could fix his fighting style to the point that his chin isn't a problem anymore.

Wlad's style is made for longevity. A conservative fighting style where he maximizes his height advantage and his accuracy with straight shots, as opposed to looping shots. And he doesn't have to get "exciting" for the sake of entertainment, because unlike Rigindoux who can't sell 10 tickets - he has a fan base. Wlad just needs to keep trucking away, producing title defense after title defense. Alex Lapei after Alex Lapei if they're mandatories, with the occasional Wilder/David Haye here and there.

A 6'6 tall fighter isn't supposed to fight like a short inside fighter. His arms are too long and he isn't gonna **** away at the body. That would imply that he is supposed to give up his height advantage and fight down to an opponents level.

And no, he is not just dominating because he is a giant. There is more to it than that. If being 6'6 was all that was needed, we would have a million Klitschko's by now, flexing their height.

I also wouldn't categorize his punching as "pot shot". That would imply that he is being cute in there and throwing non-threatening punches only to look cute and win on points. Ever punch he throws is almost a KO-punch. He doesn't waste anything (and he shouldn't. He is after all 6'6 and 250lb of muscle. Not 5'6 and 140-147).

Funny! You can tell who really watches boxing and who really doesn't in this place.

They criticize Wlad for hugging but if you look at a lot of HW fights, even some big ones, you'd see a lot of hugging, specially after the 5th round.

Yep, by far the most talented HW out there, and this how he fights 80% of the time he's the ring.

He's bad indeed...for boxing. A super-sized heavyweight who fights like a scared sissy who is worried he will have another panic attack when a punch comes within a 2 foot vicinity of his head.

It's not boxing when it comes to HWs. They absolutely MUST be inside fighting- risk taking- brawlers... Otherwise they have no skills!

That is strange isn't it?

I've seen a lot of people praise the Ike vs Tua fight as a "real heavyweight boxing match". A fight where both guys pretty much didn't bother with any sort of strategy or footwork and just smashed each other forehead-to-forehead.

HW fans seem to be kind of dumb and stuck on the idea of two big brutes just clubbing each other to death, something that's frowned upon in every other division.

I like Wlad, but he isn't the best thing since sliced bread. If he fought more guys his size he'd flat out lose. His ultra-safe style Manny taught him is what has kept him at the top. As for ba dass, yeah, he's the baddest hugger in the biz. And if he didn't hug or stick that telephone pole arm straight out there in his opponent's face.... what's he got? He's got limited all the sudden that's what he's got. I always wish him well, but damn I'd like to see him in a fire fight for once.

He's certainly no gentle giant but neither is world heavyweight boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko quite the "bad ass" he likes to describe himself as.

His nickname of Dr Steelhammer and towering 198cm stature might make him a perfect candidate for a villain in a James Bond movie.

But, with a PhD in sports science, multi-lingual Klitschko, who has a celebrity girlfriend in actress Hayden Panettiere, is certainly not your average sports jock.
