oscar made hopkins come down 3 pounds to 157, b-hop weighed in at 156. He had been the 160 champ for 10 years before this fight but still agreed to the 157 catchweight, came in 4 pounds lighter than his normal fighting weight.

i originally thought oscar was at a disadvantage in this fight but it was b-hop who had the disadvantage.. oscar even fought felix sturm at the full 160 mw limit before the b-hop fight..

oscar weighed in at 155 for bhop, which was probably his ideal weight at the time so he had everything in his favor.. and bhop should have been weight-drained.. it just put a different spin on that whole fight for me, originally i thought bhop was a clear favorite while oscar underdog, but the catchweight even up the odds considerably by putting bhop at a disadvantage..
