Funny Error in Margarito-Gomez news reports

Unsure if someone's already made a thread about this, but...

Every single site, as well as the Associated Press and Reuters, has the time of the stoppage wrong for the Margarito-Gomez fight, and all because Lupe Contreras messed it up when making the announcement.

They have the fight ending 74 seconds in, but it ended 134 seconds in, at least according to the broadcast, as Richard Steele waves it off with :46 left in the first round.

I am quite amused. I am also quite tired.

Hahahaha, well that's a minute longer than Gomez needed to be in that ring. Useless thought, but I wonder if there is a welterweight in the world that can stand and trade with Margarito and come off better. Just like with Castillo, Mayweather would have to have to be on full Ninja mode to box his way around Margarito. If Mayweather doesn't want to fight, I would love to see Margarito in with De La Hoya.

Good catch. I remember reading that on one of the boxing sites and thinking it was wrong. But I didn't know that everyone was reporting it that way.

yeah i thought it definitely seemed longer than 74 seconds cause i remember margarito was getting hit some and it seemed like it was at least 2 minutes in. oh well
