Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has advised BoxingScene.com that he would like to have former champions, Abner Mares (26-1-1, 14KOs) and Robert Guerrero (31-2-1, 18KOs), make their returns on June 21 at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Guerrero, who recently signed on board with adviser Al Haymon, has been out of the ring since last May's decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. Mares has been out of the ring since the shocking first round TKO loss to Johnny Gonzalez last August.

Robert really grew on me. I must say I was really impressed with the time he took out to do church work while on the biggest press tour of his life. Wish he had stayed more active but dude got a whole new life now. I wish that man much success. Mares needs a solid opponent tho, he lost all his buzz.

I think Guerrero will fight someone like Josesito Lopez to shake the ring rust. After that, he could fight Devon Alexander, Khan/Lopez, Thurman, etc.
