he could never break the record anyway because the guy from Thailand didn't have any fights from WSB (lomachenko had 5 fights already) and his first fight on hbo was really his 6th pro fight (and salido being 7th)

it was a sham to begin with...........

Don't understand what point Lomachenko is trying to make here. Bad, bad matchup for him.

I thought all Gary Russell was is an untested prospect fighting bums......now all of a sudden he's this unbeatable guy who's part of the gauntlet for Lomachenko.....

Anyways. Lomachenko is still pretty good. Looking forward to seeing how Gary Russell does.

You get these type of fights to happen when you don't let your promoter do the talking for you

One guy was a legendary amateur who almost beat Salido. The other guy was a good amateur who has yet to face a notable opponent. Lomachenko fights best when he's attacking. I don't see Russell Jr. applying the same kind of pressure Salido did. Lomachenko also now knows he can go twelve rounds. It would be a rush to put Lomachenko in with another world class fighter at this point, but since when was Gary Russell Jr. a proven world class fighter?
