Comments Thread For: Hunter Expects Khan To Keep Growing, Beat Mayweather

FLOYD MAYWEATHER'S decision to KO Amir Khan's dream of a megabucks fight next month is a blessing in disguise.

That's the firm view of Khan's trainer Virgil Hunter who believes that his fighter will be in a position to actually beat the American when they eventually meet next year.

Superstar Mayweather has chosen Marcos Maidana as his next opponent in Las Vegas a week on Saturday instead of facing Khan, who will fight Luis Collazo on the undercard.

if khan beats Collazo with ease then that will put him back up there, he needs to have a title going into the Floyd fight if you ask me. he needs to fight pac or porter then get floyd

Your boy's been on the shelf a whole year, he ain't no spring chicken and he's going into a fight with his kryptonite.."a fighter with power"..he should be balancing this talk up somewhat..let him out perform the conversation fans are having about him. Let that man do what he do and if he wins and wins convincingly the people will talk about how impressed they are with amir but you start this now and he comes out like he did fighting diaz and good luck selling that shhh again.

I agree he needs not only just win but a Win by looking in good fashion against Collazo.

even though floyd ducked khan it doesn't guarantee khan would have beat him yet so hunter is right when he says it was a blessing in disguise.. as long as khan stays active and improves he will be more prepared for floyd next year..

i am losing faith in hunter as a trainer though based on performances from angulo, mike dallas, and most recently karim mayfield.. hunters fighters generally aren't that good and that might be because he's not a great trainer.. its looking increasingly likely that he just got lucky with ward
