    Ricky Hatton: Coming To America

The Beatles in 1964 and The Rolling Stones in 1965. Featherweight champion Barry McGuigan in 1986. They were all hometown and national heroes. They sold out their own local arenas and big-city stadiums. But, until they made it here they hadn’t made it anywhere. Now, Ricky Hatton is looking to conquer America and make his name on this side of the pond in this latest UK Invasion.

Hatton wants to come to the U.S. win a couple of fights to hype up a Mayweather bout, if Floyd hasn't left the division by that time. I trust Ricky is in no big hurry to get that loss on his record. Cant blame him for looking for that big pay day I guess.

He's made his money, now he's just living the American dream.

If he is the guy to beat Mayweather (last year he told a friend of his who is also a friend of mine that in his honest opinion Judah would be the most difficult opponent for him, and that Cotto would be more difficult to beat than Mayweather too - in private he really seems to believe that he has the tools to definately beat Mayweather!), then he may as well raise his profile in America to make the fight and win bigger. He'll be fighting Mayweather in 2006, he's already promised that.

Hatton doesn't need money, he's a multi-millionaire. Even if he loses against Mayweather (I believe he'll get stopped on cuts), he's going to give it his best shot and should earn praise in defeat.
