People who see boxing as a business before boxing as a sport shouldnt call themselves fans.

These people that are saying they dont want to see the best fights because its more important for fighters to make money safely should be ashamed.

Do all of us true boxing fans a favour and go watch a safe sport like golf.

HBO messed up wityh the adonis kovalev fight. Not al haymon.

As to your thread, I would agree to an extent. Haymon is a manager, so his job is to maximize his fighters earnings. He does this well.

The problem is the networks have been willing to put on substandard fights so long as they get ratings rather than push for the very best fights. This isn't on Al, but he definitely has taken advantage of this to make his fighters money.

I would agree overall with your sentiments.

You need to start reading the Financial Times like the rest of the guys in this site and start appreciating the thrill of a smart business deal.

Haymon is going to run showtime dry. he is bad for boxing in general. i will be shocked if a 1,000 people show up this saturday to the stub hub center.

Ultimately, who's buying the Coca-Cola or the tickets to a boxing match? There are the "****** people" like you, and not the promoters or the fighters... Eventually, somebody has to pay for this shit, and there aren't those who produce it -- there are those who consume it... That's why you have to provide them with something "highly consumable"...

First of all, how is Haymon holding up Chavez vs GGG???

Chavez is on record saying BOB ARUM REFUSES to make the fight unless he signs the extention with him.

So if its Bob Arum refusing to make it happen, why do you turn around and blame Haymon?

you can buy all the ticket and popcirn you want. as a fan you watch the fights thats it.

comiong on here complaining about the business side of the sport is ******. you have no control over who floyd fights or who adonis fights. they have advisors to help manage their money.

so if your not seeing the fights you want right away i suggest you check in to a mental hospital and compalin to them. i'm sick of ******s like you thinking fighters are your property or arent human.

if you want instant gratification go play a boxing video game.

Its better than seeing promoter's and networks screw over fighters in all honesty. Its not like were not getting good fights because we are
