When one of these posters say that Wlad needs to mix it up and go "for the kill" on some opponent that he is supposed to knock out in 2 rounds - what they're really telling you is that they want to see him lose. If it's not broken, don't fix it. If Wlad has an Amir Khan chin problem, then it hasn't really been a problem precisely because of the way he fights. If only Amir Khan could fix his fighting style to the point that his chin isn't a problem anymore.

Wlad's style is made for longevity. A conservative fighting style where he maximizes his height advantage and his accuracy with straight shots, as opposed to looping shots. And he doesn't have to get "exciting" for the sake of entertainment, because unlike Rigindoux who can't sell 10 tickets - he has a fan base. Wlad just needs to keep trucking away, producing title defense after title defense. Alex Lapei after Alex Lapei if they're mandatories, with the occasional Wilder/David Haye here and there.

Yea I agree he should age pretty well, and what Wlad does is brutally effective it is totally on the other guy to change that. I would personally like Wlad to drop the right hand on guys more often because that is a nasty punch, but if he is winning I can't really fault him for the choices he makes in the ring.

Plus heavyweight is not exactly a class where guys mix it up, you make one mistake at heavy and even a guy with average power can put a bad hurting on someone.

Plus as you say he is doing pretty well for himself, and if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I do hope some better challengers come along though that can offer him a bit of something, but that is not something Wlad can control.

Subjective opinion based on quality of opposition is irrelevant. All that matters is the 62nd win, 16th overall Title defense and gunning for the WBC at some point.

Wlad has had some pretty beautiful moments like his knockdowns against Byrd (II) and Chambers. Part of the reason its so painful to watch him drag a fight on for 12 rounds is knowing what he's capable of. Oh well. I guess I agree overall.

With the level of "opposition" in the division not unlikely...we need to start finding them over grown young mofo's and sponsoring them..i'd love to see a decent american heavy weight again in my lifetime...football can't keep stealing them all. As long as Wlad stays in europe he won't lose unless he gets KO'd and for what they are paying him I don't see those guys fighting out here anytime soon.

Seriously tho, as long as Wlad doesn't get caught by a big punch from someone like Wilder or Fury, he can stay champion for as long as he want. I don't see anyone coming through who can challenge him for the next 5 years. The next 10 may be difficult if Joshua keeps developing the way he is.

He'll have a lot of mandatories to face:

Leapai next week, then Pulev, then perhaps unification, then in 2015 winner of Fury-Chisora, also the next WBA champion/mandatory in late 2015. And if he unifies, he'll have to fight Wilder and the next WBC mandatory after that.

For a couple of years he had trouble finding qualified and willing opponents, but from now on there will be lots of them.

Will they be keen on facing Wlad, though?
