Hi noob! Just a lil boxing knowledge for you. Porter although slightly big in the bone is super short for the MW division. The man is 5'7". Can you please find me a few successful 5'7" Middleweights???

I'll do you one better, here is a list of some of the past MW champs, their heights and how many inches taller than Porter they are:

Sergio Martinez - 5'10" (+3)
Chavez JR - 6'1" (+6)
Golovkin - 5'11" (+4)
B-Hop when at MW - 6'1" (+6)
Kelly Pavlik - 6'2" (+7)
Jermaine Taylor - 6'1" (+6)
Marvin Hagler - 5'9" (+2) keep in mind, Hagler was 5'9" but had a long 75 inch (191 cm) reach (same length as 6'2" Kelly Pavlik) while Porters reach is merely 68 inches (173 cm). Jermaine Taylors reach is 78 inches...

So Porter is supposed to fight these giants and give up 3 - 7 inches in height and up to 10 inches in reach... right? I love you know it all's that come on here and drop posts like you know what you are talking about. You are hating on a man for a ****** reason. He does not belong at MW fighting men who to him will be like giants. He is perfect for welterweight height and him making WW weight does not give him some sort of power advantage or edge just because he can fight at MW. He would be stronger at MW as it's a more natural weight for him is all that means but you cannot expect a short fighter with short arms to try and campaign solidly at a weight where he would be a dwarf in comparison to his competition.

Porter had to weigh in naked, so I say he already struggling just a tad bit.

He has worked his way down to WW over the years nicely. No reason to be very muscular and put yourself at a very big disadvantage at higher weights.

He looks quick, powerful and full of stamina, WW seems great for him
