I've always felt Hopkins took on the bigger risks throughout his career. Sure, he didn't win them all but he put himself out there. That was, until Floyd fought Berto....that changes everything.

Unfortunate that Floyd loses all polls. The best fighter is PAC on Floyd's resume who is smaller coming off of s loss so not surprised BH is ahead. And how old was jmm when he ko,ed PAC?
BH has been underdog and continually wins making u know u should never underestimate BH. Floyd should fight GGG at 160 and if Floyd is underdog and wins we will never underestimate him again like Ali said when he beat foreman, never make me underdog until I'm 50 years old

But PAC is still Floyd's best win and he's smaller. Jmm beat him as well and he was even older than Floyd.

Both are greats. Both were awesome in their younger prime careers. Mayweather has more big names and I voted for him but Hopkins will go down as greater for the longevity and ethos.

People underrate Floyd's destruction of Hatton and overrate other wins.

Fact is that later on in his career Floyd generally took on slower fighters knowing full well that his defense and speed would nullify them easily. That's why I rate his Zab and Hatton wins so highly.

Baldomir (was champ, needed to be fought), Canelo, Guerrero, pre-juice smaller Marquez, well-past it Pac, tiny career battered never great Gatti, etc etc. were all gimme fights for him.

Hopkins v Kovalev > Any post Mayweather V DLH fight.

Mayweather's skills were awesome though and he's the best of the generation.

This thread sucks. Floyd would've been flat out DESROYED by the public if he fought most of the names on Hopkins resume.

You can't compare two fighters when you hold them to two completely different standards.

I'd always go with Hopkins when this question was asked but it's Mayweather at this point and it's not too close.

hopkins trinidad win is better than any of floyds win.

hell, bhop's oscar win is better than any floyd win.

FLOYD HAS YET TO BEAT OR FACE A LEGIT HALL OF FAME FIGHTER WHO WAS IN THEIR PRIME!!!

                    those are facts, not opinions.
