Bernard Hopkins made more history when he beat Beibut Shumenov on a split decision in Washington on Saturday night. The 49-year-old IBF light-heavyweight champion added Shumenov’s WBA belt to his collection by winning the fight 116-111 on two cards. The other judge made Shumenov the winner by 114-113. Shumenov was unable to find ways to land enough scoring shots as the veteran used his experience to frustrate his 30-year-old opponent.
