No, Jones had a great career. In his prime, he was amazingly good, one of the best ever.

But the version of Hopkins that Calzaghe beat was very good despite his age, perhaps craftier and more difficult than when he was younger.

Freedom is pretty much up there with the most terrible posters. Calzaghe did nothing for the first 8 rounds against Hopkins and lost the remaining two. The moment Cal fought someone legit, he lost. The guy was pretty much european trash.

Most people scored it for Calzaghe.

The very 1st thing I thought.

Calzaghe definitely beat him, why are we still arguing that? It'll forever be in the history books, just get over it. Does it make Joe some legendary ATG, no.

I always thought he recovered well from that knockdown, and didnt dominate the rest at all but def went on to fight well and win. people that say "what did joe do for the first 8" i have no words for, i never saw that at all..

Sort of, but then it also makes me think even though Calzaghe edged him out when they fought (I had Calzaghe winning 7 rounds, almost all of the last rounds and didn't get how anyone could have had BHop winning. You don't lose extra points for throwing ****** looking punches.), and he may have retired undefeated, BHop is 49 and he's still beating champions, and he has more quality wins. He's adding to his legacy, breaking records and doing something very unique and unheard of while Calzaghe's legacy stays the same.

Cannot agree. Calzaghe looked terrible against Hopkins and lost to a guy who barely threw any punches at him while he threw 50,000 back. To some that was the moment it was realized that Joe was not a greatly skilled boxer. Joe had amazing intensity. I consider him a champion in life more so than I do the boxing ring.

I felt like he clearly outboxed Hopkins in the second half of that fight. Every one of those rounds was pretty much him going forward, landing a lot of weak punches, a few clean ones even though he had a girly delivery, avoided some punches on the occasion he wasn't already out of range before Hopkins tried to throw, he would get hit with maybe two well-thrown punches a round that weren't that great and get hit with a weak punch or two to the side of his body on a clinch. He out-maneuvered Hopkins was too athletic for him. It was ugly looking and didn't look like how high-level boxing is supposed to look but it was still high-level boxing to me.

At no point did I see Calzaghe "out boxing" Hopkins. Outhustling, without question. That he did do. It was some of the ugliest most amateurish fighting Joe ever showcased. And you feel it was "high level?" Wow.
