  • W.Klitschko still wants to continue for 10 years

    Here's a fresh german article I just read : http://www.mittelbayerische.de/sport...024-boxen.html

Wlad says that he is still very hungry and that he feels better than ever.

I believe that "10 years" is just a way of talking.

Peter and Tyson Fury have no excuses! Dr.Steelhammer is coming to get Tyson Fury!

Here are some recent tirads from the Furys :

Peter : " Wlad wants to retire after winnng the WBC belt " ... translation : " I don't want my nephew to fight Wladimir Klitschko"

Tyson Fury : " Wlad is ducking me" translation : " I am not ready"

Fury's team even claimed once that they will never fight Wladimir Klitschko.

I really hope that Klitschko gets past Leapai and Pulev and that Fury beats Chisora so we can finally see if the Furys will try to escape or accept to fight.

wlad's hero henry akwindade fought till the age of 43 so its definitely a style that works for old fighters.

Interesting. Well, Vitali went on strong past 40, and he was very injury prone and has/had a creaking body in comparison to Wlad. Since he's not getting into many wars, is always in shape, and still looks to have speed and power, there is no reason at this point why Wlad can't go on at least a few more years. But his next fights will truly reflect whether this is the case, or not.

Vitali's style will be missed though. Wladimir might be the lineal champion but he's never had an intuitive fighting style like Vitali.

True. But I don't think Wlad has the toughness or chin to fight like that, with his hands down. You have to be born a fighter, I think, in order to have that sort of style. It seems it all boils down to a mentality. Another interesting note from this is a fighter's chin - arguably it's a lot to do with psychology - if you are a natural fighter, if you have less fear of getting hit, somehow more used to it. Think about those who were more born fighters, and those that were 'manufactured'...usually the natural born ones will be the durable ones.

Well because of his style, he can pull it off. And from 2005-present he has rarely lost a round or bit hit flush. Longevity is all about defense/elusiveness and Wlad is an elusive fighter to hit in his own way. It's not pretty the way he does it but he does it, he avoids punishment. He can fight another 10 years. Plus he's huge for the style he uses, which is a positive for him.
