Jackson's chin was okay. Only guys who stopped him before he was considerably past it were McCallum and G-Man. McCallum stopped him early, McCallum was also one of the best 154 lb fighters ever and Jackson was a tad green. He didn't get stopped again until McClellan, who was way naturally bigger than him and Jackson was on the downside anyway and had eye issues. McClellan was a huge hitter.

In between that, it wasn't like he was getting dropped or rocked all the time.

He was a big puncher but according to his record he couldn't take a good punch.

really? the only people that KO'd him were really ATG's with ATG power like mike mccalum and gerald mcclellan. i wouldn't call him chinny at all. you probably never watched him fight

he was ko'd twice by gerald mcllelan who is arguably an even harder puncher than Jackson himself.

I was being hard on Julian Jackson. In his prime he only really lost to Mike McCallum and he lost to Gerald McClellan twice past his prime. The other fights he lost he was fighting way past his prime.

exactly and mccalum and mcclellan are not only both ATG's, mcllelan is known as arguably a harder puncher than jackson himself which is unheard of.

20 of mcllelans 31 victories were 1st round KO's, the rest were in round 2 or 3

I've seen this video once. That is a scary puncher. Probably the hardest I've seen on video.

                    The formula!!

                    Good post Interloper.

All JJ's power came from firm footing and twisting into his punches from the hips like a horizontal pendulum. Plus the dude was strong as an ox.

He is in my opinion the pound for pound number one puncher of all time. Truly horrifying power. I know Foreman and Shavers are contenders for that too but Jackson is something else. I've seen threads about 'making the perfect fighter' and Jackson's power is the one I'd pick every time.

I'd say his chin was alright. I don't think he was china chinned at all. Before he got a fork stuck in him and called it a career McCallum and McClellan had stopped him and they weren't the average fighter.

The immortal knockout of Herol Graham has to go down in history as one the most horrifying knockouts ever. Herol always seemed to snatch defeat from success. I also loved his KOs of Terry Norris and Buster Drayton, who took some of Jackson's artillery before a shot from hell.
