Mayweather vs. Skilled Elusive Boxer (never?)

In examining Mayweather's list of wins in his amazing career, I noticed he has not fought a legitimate prime boxer in quite a while. The fighters that come to mind are Mosley (past prime), judah (not good at all), Oscar (past prime).

I wonder right now if we will ever see this. I think it would be risky this late in his career. I don't think he has the same quickness.

I honestly don't see too many out there around the 147lb+\- range.

I think Canelo is a pretty skilled boxer with underrated defense. Wouldn't call him elusive though. We'll see just how good he is against Lara.

Here's the thing, there aren't too many skilled elusive boxers out there especially around Floyd's division. We do have Lara, Bradley, and Thurman who are somewhat elusive but all of those guys can be touched up relatively easily as they proved in their last few fights. Thurman got wobbled by Soto-Karass in round 1, Bradley got concussed by Provodnikov then got a leg injury against Pacquiao, Lara got dropped twice by a slow Angulo.

Let's face it, none of these guys is a Pernell Whitaker and I believe Floyd would beat all of them in boring yet somewhat competitive fights.

Well there is no one like sweet pea these days. But there were boxers during Floyd's career that were defensive, had speed, and we're good counter punchers. Right now there is Lara, Bradley, Martinez. The boxers during Floyd's career weren't elite, nor did they have a big following (spinks, witter). So I don't think that should be held against him.

Judah is weird. He is a lot of flash, but no substance. Sort of like the guy who can jump out of the gym, but can't make a jump shot.

Judah was not that good at WW. He lost about half his fights there then decided to go back down to 140. Judah is also so inconsistent.

At WW, Judah lost to Baldomir, Clottey, Cotto, Spinks and Floyd. So that proved that you don't need to be a Floyd level fighter to beat Judah at WW.

Honestly, Floyd avoids relatively risky fighters at 147+. Sergio Martinez called him out for like 5 years ..... but Floyd avoided him ...... yet was OK and preferred fighting another Argentinian named Maidana who people give little chance of winning the fight.
