Comments Thread For: Khabib's Manager: Vargas' Victory - He Received a Gift!

Vladimir Hryunov, the powerful manager of former IBO/WBA 'regular' light welterweight champion Khabib Allakhverdiev (19-1, 9 KOs), who has just lost his undefeated record and his throne to Jesse Vargas (now 24-0, 9 KOs), expressed his opinion of the fight, its controversial outcome and future moves.

“From the point of the result itself, it wasn’t a particularly successful night for us. But we should sit down and think about this fight. Thanks to everyone who has supported us. I think such a fight needs to be continued in a rematch”.

I'd watch a rematch for sure, whilst the fight was close (much closer than the cards suggested) with many close rounds, I could see Khabib winning a rematch...if they've got the option they should exercise it.

I wouldn't say that Vargas got a 'gift' though...he kinda earned the win...but it was a good competitive fight with a lot of rounds that coulda been scored either way.

"We won't appeal the outcome of the fight" lol People don't even appeal decisions in cases of daylight robberies, let alone close fights.

"Two or more rounds, and Vargas would have been knocked out cold". He saw that in his crystal ball

It was a close fight and I had Vargas winning.

Robbery? No. It was close but I thought Vargas won pretty clearly.

Watch the fight again, he beat Vargas, Vargas headbutted him a couple of times, but dude was a handful for vargas - he hit Vargas flush a bunch of times and had him hurt.. this was a top rank victory anyway, their stable is depleted and they need belts to justify site and license fees for HBO and PPV... Vargas did not win that fight, i wont yell robbery, should have been a draw at worst

Khabib beat Vargas. A rematch is definitely needed

Khabib did not even get started for a few rounds and that cost him.
