People giving Broner a tough time smh dude is only 24 far from reaching his prime, Maidana beating was a blessing in disguise. He jumped 2 weight classes and faced the biggest puncher in his second bout at 147 give the dude a break.
most of the posters here have an agenda and no respect for the sport, but to balance it out when you talk sht like broner does and hump dudes in the ring you put yourself out there and its expected... broner will be okay i watched the madina fights a few times he lacked experience and jumped up in weight too fast, he underestimated chino and payed for it but had flashes and sucsses at certain points and showed heart. if he takes his craft serious he will be good. hes too flat footed also!
What exactly does take over boxing mean? He is just one fighter so how does he take over boxing? If Broner retired today it would have no effect on boxing. You insist he has all this charisma and maybe to you he does. Lots of boxing fans don't find him the list bit charming or funny. They find him rude, crude, classless, obnoxious and disrespectful to other fighters. As far as ability goes he is just a good average fighter and nothing special in my opinion. He built a good record but they matched him carefully. He lost to the first really dangerous fighter he fought. Now they are back to matching him very carefully so he will rack up a new string of KOs but as soon as he fights a really good fighter I think he will lose again. He might improve some but he is muscle bound and his hands are not very fast so I don't think he will ever be this superstar he and his fans think he will become. He is not even the best young fighter around. Canelo is a year younger than Broner but he is a better fighter. Canelo also makes much more money than Broner and that seems to be Broner's measure of how good a fighter is. Canelo really does have charisma and fans tent to like him because he is always polite and respectful to everyone. He is a terror in the ring unless his opponent is Floyd Mayeather.
i find it unlikely but its far from impossible. he has all the heart, talent and chin you can ask for now he "just" needs to put in the work.
what makes me doubt his ability to go that far (i do think he will have some success but not that much) is his immaturity and arrogance. h claims never to have watched the maidana fight, idk if thats true but if it is, what a huge mistake! thats the only positive thing about losing is giving you a kick in the ass to work harder and perfect feedback on what to apply it to.
long answer short.. i think he can but i dont think he will.
I honestly don't think so. He got absolutely shellacked by Maidana, isn't undefeated anymore and now hearing him shoot his mouth off will be more cringeworthy than before, people are obsessed with unbeaten fighters these days and that is literally all he had going for him.
If he improves his ethic and increases his output can he do it? He certainly has the charisma, good power and handspeed etc, and a granite chin. When Floyd and Pac retire I think he can take over the game. Not many young stars who can hang with him that are around his weight class imo.
