I don't like the idea of GGG moving to 168

No issue. Hes not undersized at 160 he's got a solid frame. We dont see him get very big because of how active he is but hes got a good frame. He tends to look a little bigger than his opponents at 160 so he'll be okay. At least hes not fighting Chavez at 160 whch would make the discrepency even bigger on fight night. At least this way GGG can also add on a couple pounds to help.

if somehow cotto beats martinez there is no way in hell he will fight GGG it will be suicide, i mean, real middleweights are scared of him, cotto is just too small

GGG is in his 30s now, and his only now making a name, despite being a very prolific and celebrated amateur. If GGG could get the other big names at 160, he would, but he can't get them.

Beating Chavez will force HBO to confront the other big names into fighting GGG, so it makes total sense for him to do this.

This fight is going to be awesome, I'm really not sure how it will play out. Is GGG skilled enough to avoid punishment from Chavez? If so he will win. But if not, Chavez might seriously hurt GGG, and then things might get interesting. But I think GGG is skilled enough, and will win.

              I agree with the OP.

Golovkin is a small middleweight who walks around at 165 or so.

I would sooner he move down to 154 and fight Lara than move up to 168.

Same-day weigh-in would help for this one. Chavez will be at least 20 pounds heavier on fight night.

He'll give up around 10-13lbs on fight night, which is what the current greats Mayweather, Marquez, Pacquiao constantly give up on FN. You just have to suck it up and try to win, there's nothing illegal about rehydrating.

I was hoping he would make a mark at middleweight before moving up. At least get a few meaningful victories.

Do you guys think weight will be a problem for Gennady?
do you like the idea of floyd and pac fighting at 160?

It could be. Pavlik, Abraham, Taylor and Miranda all had issues moving up in weight.

Going from 160 to 168 is a big challenge
