LOL at cutting out the rest of my post. When they sat and negotiated for the fight to happen, there was no other roadblocks (you and Manny supporters just say that because it sounds good). FACT. The information is out there. And I think it's hilarious how people have this idea that after he rejected the offer that went all the way to mediation was going to be the exact SAME months later. I can say the exact same thing about Manny and his stance on the testing. LOL. I guess you forget that is was Bob Arum that said they were not going to cave in to any extra testing after initially agreeing to it in the negotations. I guess you forget that it was Bob Arum that said they would ONLY let WADA do the testing and not USADA. I guess you forgot that Bob Arum came out and said that he would never sit down with GBP about a possible fight with Mayweather a couple years ago. But you're right, Bob Arum is trying his hardest to "get the fight done". Get out of here.

I guess Floyd was in the position he's in now that he was then right? At it's peak, Floyd was 1A and Manny was 1B. Floyd had to give that man a fair shake and had to deal with Arum as Pacquiao's promoter and would have to deal with it being a co promotion with his former boss. Now, this is not the case. Manny's stock has dropped significantly and Floyd not only became a bigger star in boxing but now he's also a major figure head on the business side as well. So much so that now he can cut Bob out if he wants because he and Schaeffer can foot this promotion entirely by themselves. Richard and Floyd would be just giving away Money by allowing Arum to co-promote it when he does not have to. So, due to Floyd's substantial growth in the sport, he no longer has to deal with a guy he doesn't like, that he would have had to 5 years ago. Still not making sense?

Another thing to keep in mind at that point in 2009 was just after Floyd came back and had some major tax issues. That was clearly the biggest money out there which he needed a lot of at that moment, when you need the money you tend to swallow your pride on such things. After that Floyd banked with the Mosley fight and didn't need money near as much, thus he played hardball from then on out but it is not like it did him any good being accommodating with either a large section of fans or Team Manny.

Martinez was not going to fight Cotto out of principle because he felt disrespected as the champion. Eventually he realised that he'd had to give in to a diva's demands.

Pacquaio maybe should have done the same. Although the fight wouldn't have happened anyway.
