    yeah but come on man....

Quartey has never been known for his defense. Actually it sucks.....

He makes up for it in other areas. Like his offense, and the fact he has the best jab in the division times ten thousand.

The guy was painfully slow, and had no punch. Ike always fades down the stretch and if/when he fights a real test he's in for a rude awakening.

Dude he just fought Verno Phillips two fights ago. LOL.

sure he got knocked down....but he survived and won. Clearly.

Yeah, I admit that was a "test" but he wasn't a titlist OR a big test. It was a good test to showcase his skills and shake off the ring rust he had.

Trust me, Quartey is a shadow of his former self. He fights Ouma, Forrest, even Vargas and it's murder.

Dude obviously you havent seen Forrest's comeback bouts,he's maybe 1/10th the fighter he was.He gets beat by Quartey easily.

I thought Forrest looked pretty considering the lengthy amount of time he has been away from the competition. I think 154 is a good weight for him. He certainly looked much stronger at 154 than he did as a Welterweight. Forrest carried the additional eight-and-a-half pounds well.

Winky Wright, Daniel Santos and Roman Karmazin will beat him, though. I think fights with Ouma, Quartey and Vargas would be winnable for him. A Ricardo Mayorga rematch would also be winnable as well as entertaining.

                I'd have to disagree chief.

I like Vargas personally. I don't think he has the same stuff now that he used to beat Quartey(barely) the first time.

He is more technical...and that is NOT how you fight Ike. You kill yourself that way. You have to go in there and take the fight to him....or plan to get your ass dominated.

Forrest I'd give the best chance to. He's big, strong, and has a good reach that might override Ike's jab. Even then like Mech says...he looks awful as of late. I'm going with Ike.

Ouma? heheh naw man. Ike would knock him out. He's technically superior, stronger, more tested, experienced...you name it.

That's a really good post !! But you really have to factor in that you don't know much.

Yeah I think the same of you. Perception is a strange thing.

                      Quote from Forrest:

"I see myself taking a step down from the big name fights for right now," he said.

"In truth, I'm going into the minor leagues. I got a minor league assignment to do. I'm coming off injuries, so I"m not going to come out there and say I want to fight the best guys out there. I'm not physically able to. I want to build up my physical confidence, and with my physical confidence comes my mental confidence. And then I'll be more prepared to fight all the big guys out there."
