Obviously Canelo-Lara. Canelo is taking on a much less popular fighter with a tough style. What I think is silly is that Canelo is getting praised for taking this fight on because it's risky but these two guys are the best in the division, why shouldn't they be fighting each other?

      Canelo fighting lara....

Lara has the ability to undress canelo like rigo did donaire,,, Not saying its gonna happen but def a possibilty..

GGG-chavez will be a dogfight, and is gonna be action packed.. Even in a loss, chavez will entertain fans and his stock wont drop if he loses a war.. Plus he has the size/weight edge whereas both canelo and lara are jr mids...

I think canelo is taking the bigger risk

I would like hear Max's opinion. I think canelo v. lara just because Lara is an uber-talent w/ considerable defensive prowess.

Like others have said, ggg is salable commodity. He puts up huge numbers and that would help the ppv. Lara doesn't draw viewers or seats in the arena, but he's the only legit p4p guy of the 4.

Chavez fighting Golovkin easy! We already have video evidence of Golovkin at half speed easily outboxing Junior in sparring..

Now I like and respect Lara, he's a gifted boxer but he did nothing versus Matirosyan and getting dropped twice by the slowest boxer in the world in Angulo.. Hate all you want on Canelo, the kids legit!

The Canelo fight is 60-40 His favour.. Maybe the Lara fanatics think it's 50-50
GGG vs Junior is easily 70-30 GGG, maybe more..

Bottom line, Junior is taking the bigger risk

lol that is a point. I watched all 15 minutes of that and Chavez didn't do much at all. Abel Sanchez probably thinks it's an easy win, but he could be in for a surprise. Sparring is sparring, I think Golovkin will have to take some big flush shots to win.

I think Lara-Canelo is 50-50, Chavez-Golovkin 65-35 against Chavez, so the answer is Julio is taking the bigger risk in my opinion.

As someone mentioned though ,as opposed to the alternatives Canelo is taking the biggest fight at his division. There is no one at that division who is seen as a bigger threat than Lara while also being a fight of much lower reward.

Chavez on the other hand would be the underdog against mostly all top fighters at super middleweight. For example just imagine Chavez/ Ward, higher risk/ lower reward.

Who was Canelo's PPV alternative? Seems to me that there aren't a long list of names for him without stepping up to 160. Am I wrong?

Chavez could've waited it out for (what's left of) Froch, he'd have a good shot of beating Arthur Abraham too.

Ppv wise I don't think Lara brings much to the table. This is a fight for hardcore fans so I don't see Ppv numbers being affected if he fought someone else. You never know they talked about bringing someone up or down ( glad that didn't happen) but they could have tried to sell a bigger name(a WW or MW)it's not like promoters haven't tried that before.

Hats off to both Canelo and Chavez Jr. Credit where its due.

Chavez-GGG is more dangerous because with GGG coming up who knows that was the change he needed to be even more devastating. Scary stuff.

With Lara-Canelo its gonna be a chess match.

So though both fights have a risk of losing attatched for Canelo and Chavez, i believe Chavez's risk means more cuz he will be taking punishment and a painful one add the fact his defense is blocking punches with his face.
