Horrible Showtime event but 100x better than any event HBO put on all year seriously. I am about to resign my subscription. They didn't even show hay Crawford fight against burns which was a very meaningful fight. Instead they showed stiff bums, mismatches, and rematches that are pretty crappy.

That Porter fight last night was very significant that's a fact if you don't think so that's your opinion. No one has ever hurt Malignaggi like tht where he was literally knocked out laying on the mat. He definitely made a statement in that fight.

Also the main event I significant because it unified titles and is setting up for another unification this year.

Shumenov didnt appreciate Hopkins' antics before the fight. Hopkins said I had to do the mind games and you will learn from it.

Hopkins calls himself "The Alien". His nickname should be "The Magician". Action fighters get in the ring with him, and he magically turns them into cautious, safety conscious duplicates of himself . Cloud must have threw 100 punches a round. He gets in with Hopkins, and all of sudden he wants to out-pose and out-think him. Throw some punches! Jermain Taylor and Joe Calzaghe didnt stand there and pose with Hopkins, they tried to HIT him !

I have serious doubts of the entertainment value of a Hopkins matchup with Kovalev and Stevenson! These two exciting fighters will be reduced to 2 punches a round as they try to play chess with Hopkins! What is it, fear of Hopkins power?! He's 49! A dirty move, that he's known for, like a headbutt or elbow?

I'd rather see these guys take a risk with this man and maybe take a hit or two, than stand there and pose, for what will surely be a UD loss. I knew the result as soon as Shumenov reduced his output! Why make me wait another 10 rounds for the inevitable UD loss ?

I don't know how he does it honestly, he is like a snake charmer taming the opponent.

Ordinary skills and not willing to step up and dominate.

Porter is the modern day Henry Armstrong without Henry's arsenal.
Paulie tried to pick up his pennies but picked the wrong guy to do it with.
He's lucky he didn't get KO'd and hurt bad. Now he MUST stop!!!

Bernard Hopkins is a carnival, the fellow he fought opened his mouth every time he threw a punch and if that alone tells you he "stinks" you don't know boxing at all. Being a tuff guy with the willingness to press and absorb punches doesn't offered a Title fight even when the Title is BS!!
Bernard is lucky these are the times that boxing shares with mma and side show carnivals. What once a good fighter with good skills has become a thief in the night and he gets away with it because the eyes that are on him are blind!

You have to look hard for a worse show!!! The Titles are bogus the fighters other than Porter are "rigged" for a show and if I had to pay for that I'd be one pissed off MFer!!!!

Forget the Great Sugar Ray days I miss Leonard & Hearns with Hagler and back to Napolis. Come forward to Curry & Starling and that group and they just moved up 5 notches compared to the joke I saw last night!

Know wonder you don't read or hear one thing about last night any where on any sports talk or news related show! It's a joke event that survives because the audience is dooped into believing their watching competitive fights from the highest skilled fighter. Call tese events what they are and be truthfull...
                ..................Dumb & Dumber..................!!!!!
                Ray.
Are you really trying to downplay these fighters? Smh

Not really. First, Paulie is not the fighter he used to be, and he went in a bit overconfident.

Second, I don't think Paulie put his right hand in telephone position ONCE, he kept his right hand in his chest, and defensively it looked like he hadn't trained much for the fight, he looked like an amateur. He looked like Arturo Gatti minus the power.
