I've analysed this fight and I think Shumenov wins because he's too strong for Hopkins. I think Shumenov has the power to hurt him. Even though I had Hopkins beating Calzaghe, he seemed to tire in the later rounds. Hopkins was 43 then. And Calzaghe's punches are soft flicks compared to what Shumenov hits with.

I can't wait til B-Hop schools Shumenov and silences the doubters.

Don't know that much about Shumenov , but I think there's a sneaky, dirty, crazy old man waiting for him down a dark alley. Maybe the sneaky, dirty, crazy old man is an alien. Maybe he's an alien executioner...fack, I'm making myself paranoid with this ****! Looking over my shoulder now...lemme' go put on my tinfoil hat!

Joking aside, imo, at this point age can rear up and overwhelm Hopkins at any given moment (and the better the opponent, the more likely it is), but he wouldn't take this fight if he didn't see something that he could take advantage of.

My standard pick anymore for B-Hop is win by controversial decision.

        I'll go with that.

        WAR HOPKINS!!

          Latest Stories

          Hopkins vs Shumenov:

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Future Hall of Famer and IBF Light Heavyweight World Champion Bernard "The Alien" Hopkins worked out in front of a throng of reporters Thursday at DSG Boxing Gym in Philadelphia as he winds down preparation for his Saturday, April 19, World Championship Unification against Beibut Shumenov. Hopkins, the IBF titleholder, and Shumenov, the WBA Super Champion, will square off in the main event of a SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING world championship tripleheader at the DC Armory in Washington, D.C., live on SHOWTIME at 9 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast), immediately following the premiere of Episode 1 of ALL ACCESS: Mayweather vs. Maidana.

If you’re waiting for Beibut Shumenov to reveal the secret of how he plans to beat Bernard Hopkins on April 19, you stand a better chance of passing out holding your breath while waiting on that answer. The Kazakh boxer, now living in and training out of Las Vegas, is all business ahead of his upcoming light heavyweight title unification bout. So much that he refuses to tip his hand or give Hopkins (54-6-2, 32KO) – the absolute boxing master when it comes to pre-fight mind games – any additional ammunition.

          Porter vs Malignaggi:

Luis Sandoval stops by the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas and catches up with undefeated IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter to discuss his Showtime televised defense against former two-division champ Paulie Malignaggi on April 19th. Porter goes over his training plans, what he needs to do strategically in the fight to defeat Malignaggi and more.

Paulie Malignaggi (33-5, 7KOs), a former two-division champion, is looking for redemption when he faces undefeated IBF welterweight beltholder Shawn Porter (23-0-1, 14 KOs) on April 19th as part of the Bernard Hopkins-Beibut Shumenov undercard at Washington’s D.C. Armory. Malignaggi felt he was robbed of his WBA welterweight title last June at the Barclays Center, when Adrien Broner won a close split decision to snatch away the belt. Broner's reign was short-lived, as he lost the strap to Marcos Maidana last December. He sees the opportunity against Porter, who he considers to be a better fighter than Broner, as the perfect opportunity to make things right.

I would have to put Rigo ahead of him, but B-Hop is a close second.

really a toss up leaning towards porter, ppl forget he had a draw with julio diaz. he likes to kinda rush in, doesnt have devastating power and i could see paulie using the jab keeping away from porter getting inside where he likes to rough u up

i could also see paulies older legs failing him, porter is alot younger fresher, throws a lot of punches. if hes able to get inside, paulie will not win.
