Patrick Nielsen vs Dmitry Chudinov confirmed for June 1. WBA MW.

Kalle Sauerland has confirmed tweets from Dmitry Chudinov's promotor Vladimir Hryunov, that danish World ranked contender Patrick Nielsen is going to Moscow on June 1 to fight Dmitry Chudinov.

The fight will be for the WBA interim title at 160 lbs.

Sauerland tells eb.dk: "In principle, we are still negotiating, but since Hryunov has confirmed the fight on Twitter, I can say that Patrick is going to Moscow on June 1".

Sauerland continues: "I know this is a gamble but this is a big opportunity for Patrick. Sometimes you have to travel to show the World how good you are and big money awaits if he becomes champion".

There's some speculation that the real WBA champion Gennady Golovkin, will be stripped if he fights Chavez Jr. at 168 lbs, in which case the Chudinov-Nielsen fight will be for the full title.

Why the hell would the garbage WBA strip Golovkin for fighting Chavez so long as he fulfills his mandatory obligations? These are the same scumbags who allowed Sturm and N'jikam to avoid fighting him for two years when he had mandatory status they've treated Gena terribly. I hope he unifies so he can drop their worthless title and stop paying them sanctioning fees.

      Thought about the same thing.

Unless GGG wants to step up to SMW permanently, which I can't really see happening. I originally thought it was for the 'regular' belt, which it may still turn out to be.

It's still far far too early for any of these two to be competing at the top level.

I cannot see it either. There's far to much money and prestige in Golovkin for WBA to let him go.

Decent step up fight for both guys - both promising and solid prospects though neithers gonna be elite IMO.

As for the GGG 'rumour' I'd like to see some kinda source for that - just sounds bizarre to me though I'm not quite sure where he stands with his mando commitments with them. Macklin mighta been considered a mando but he's about the only guy that Golovkins fought in the WBAs current top 10 and that was nearly a yeear ago.

I doubt the WBA gonna strip him though, more likely elevate him to super status (or whatever) having Chudinov / Nielson as their Champ would just make them a laughing stock.

Nielsen wins... and GGG will most likely get a shot if he is stripped right after at the new holder.

GGG is going to get supered and the winner of this fight a regular

There's no way in hell Sauerland or his trainer/team will let Nielsen fight GGG.

He's 21 years old or something - just a kid. He hasn't fought anyone even remotely close to world level, and that will still be the same after this fight. He shouldn't take on a beast like GGG anytime soon. It will be the end of him.

The sanctioning bodies frequently (almost regularly) act irrationally. Even though GGG is making them money and bringing prestige to the WBA belt, it would not out of character for them to strip the champion for some insanely absurd reason.

WBA is also not going to shut him out permanently.

                  They'll most likely Super GGG
