Earlier today WBC Flyweight champion Akira Yaegashi (20-3, 10) returned to the gym following his latest defence of his world title, less than 2 week ago.

With Yaegashi's next opponent already confirmed as Nicaraguan sensation Roman Gonzalez (39-0, 33) it's fair to say that Yaegashi is wanting all the preparation time he can possibly get and unlike in the past their is no case of wondering who his opponent will be. This time Yaegashi can focus entirely on Gonzalez.

Although the gym work today was lighter than it would be closer to fight time there was some interesting details that were released from Yaegashi and his camp. The most notable of those details was that the fight could be in September. Of course Yaegashi wasn't drawn in to speculating the date but it does fall in line with what we had expected (August, September or October).

With no specific date yet agreed it seems like Yaegashi is going to take his time to fully prepare for the bout. With it being against Gonzalez it is easily the most dangerous bout of Yaegashi's career and rushing in to a bout with such a fearsome fighter as "Chocolatito" would be nothing short of reckless.
