Comments Thread For: Ryota Murata Will Have a Ten Rounder on May 22nd

London Olympic middleweight champion Ryota Murata has set up the longest fight of his pro boxing career—a 10-round bout—although if it’s like his three previous fights, it will be over long before going the distance.

Murata will face Mexico’s Jesus Angel Nerio in a 10-round nontitle fight on May 22 at Shimazu Arena Kyoto, it was announced Monday.

According to his plan, they want him to have a title fight next year.... they said GGG, but that's a death sentence. Better hope there's a vacant title by next year

He needs to relax. Keep working and get 10 fight under his belt and then move up.

I wish they would get more fights under his belt though.... he's been on some high profile cards, I think it's better he fights more frequently to right some mistakes

Ryota is a big strong middleweight and a good prospect but im not overly impressed by his skills so far. There is room for improvement.

These Olympians are rushing into things too quickly. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, but he's no Rigo. I'd like him to have at least 15 fights under his belt before even thinking about a title shot.
